Adelina

Adelina is enrolled as a student at the Muhammadiyah Selong Institute of Social Technology and Health, majoring in public administration. Her goal is to become a successful career woman and make her mother proud.

When she was 10 years old her parents divorced and her father moved away and remarried. Her younger brother also moved away leaving just Adelina and her mother. Sadly, Adelina’s mother passed away in 2022. To generate an income Adelina works at a high school as an office helper. This income covers her basic cost of living, and she was able to gather some savings to start university. Her funds run out after this semester so she is seeking sponsorship to be able to continue her higher education studies.

We asked Adelina why education is valuable to women?

​

"I am very aware that education is important; I think by continuing my education I can change my life.

Maybe being highly educated doesn't make us rich in material things but it makes us rich in heart and knowledge."
