Mira

Mira feels passionate about continuing her education because she wants to help her parents and the wider community. Mira’s parents generate a low monthly income which will not extend to cover the cost of university however.

Mira would like to major in tourism at university.  The area of Lendang Nangka,where Mira lives, offers a variety of scenic beauty including waterfalls, Mount Rinjani and beaches a little further away. Mira can foresee the benefits of promoting and expanding the tourism sector  t for her community too and she is keen to be involved in this..

We asked Mira why education is valuable to women?

"Apart from self-education, education is also very important for a woman because every woman is the main educator for her sons and daughters in the future. I want to prove that education can create a better future for myself and my community”
