Our Journey With Irma

Irmanyani (Irma) was 18 years old and lived with her parents and two younger siblings when we were first introduced. Her father was a small farmer in the village of Lendang Nangka in Lombok, Indonesia.

Irma graduated from High School and was an excellent student.  She really wanted the opportunity to go on to tertiary study though her family could not afford to cover the costs of a university education for her.

She was keen to be educated and then come back to her community to assist women in building businesses to support themselves and their families.

Irma was able to secure a place at Hamzanwadi University to study economics after finding a sponsor through Lenka Sisters.

She has one final semester to complete her undergraduate studies.

Alongside her study, Irma likes to give back to the community. She is active within the Indonesian Red Cross as well as being a blood donor.

She believes that education is very important to ensure a future and to support a good job. She has a bright future ahead of her.
